Jamie was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. While growing up Jamie spent most of her free time dancing and competing at various dance competitions. Jamie spent 3 summers touring the United States with Dance Caravan. She has performed at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and the Pro-Bowl half time show in Hawaii. Jamie received her Bachelors of Science degree in Biomedical Science from the University of South Florida. She moved to the Keys in 2007 to pursue her dream as a marine mammal trainer at Dolphin Research Center. Dance and teaching has always been a passion for Jamie and she is excited to be able to share that passion with students in Marathon, Florida.
Lisa Scobba studied dance at Western Kentucky University and University of Cincinnati. She received dance teacher training from Dance Educators of America and Brenda’s School of Dance. Lisa studied with top of the field teachers in Los Angeles, New York, Atlanta, and Philadelphia. She received certification in the Vaganova Ballet Technique levels 1 through 4. Lisa owned and directed her own studio for 23 years in the Cincinnati area where she coached an elite national winning dance troupe. She has won numerous choreography awards and has choreographed for television, industrial shows, pageants, and other professional venues. Lisa has managed a travelling competitive dance team where several of her students won national titles as soloists as well as with their team with many respectable dance competitions. Many of her students have become professional in the dance field. Lisa was a certified examiner for Dance Masters of America in 2000 and 2001 and was a part of the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts Talent Search Program in 2003 and 2004. Lisa is a master teacher in many forms of dance including ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, and tumbling at all skill levels and ages. Lisa’s goal is to motivate and inspire her students to reach their full potential.
Shelby has been working and living in Marathon, Florida since 2014 as a marine mammal trainer at Dolphin Research Center. Shelby grew up in Jacksonville, Florida where she trained as an elite gymnast until the age of 17. Shelby has an extensive background in competitive gymnastics and classical ballet. Shelby received her degree from the University of Alabama and moved to the Keys upon graduation to pursue her career at DRC. Her love of gymnastics and dance has never dwindled and she loves sharing her passions with our community.
